Hear Irish farmers. 🇮🇪🌱2026 has been a challenging year for those growing our food. The cost of producing horticultural crops in Ireland rose by 3.9% in just one year. Since 2020, horticultural input costs have risen by an average of 76.2% across the sector. For vegetables alone, costs are up 4.7%. (teagasc.ie)Fertiliser is more expensive.Fuel is more expensive.Labour is more expensive.Energy and transport costs continue to put pressure on growers.According to the CSO, agricultural input prices were 8% higher in May 2026 than a year earlier. Motor fuels were up 33.3%, while fertiliser prices were up 22.7%. (cso.ie)And then there’s the weather. This year has brought difficult growing conditions, from persistent rainfall earlier in the season to increasingly dry conditions in parts of the country. Soil moisture deficits have become a real concern, with dry weather already affecting growth in some areas. (teagasc.ie)And yet, look at our fields.Food is still growing. 🌱Behind every box of fresh vegetables is someone taking the risk, investing the money, working the long days and dealing with whatever the season brings. So when we talk about the price of food, we should also talk about the cost of producing it.Food security doesn’t begin in the supermarket. It begins on the farm.Hear Irish farmers.Support local growers.Choose local. 💚🇮🇪#beechlawnorganicfarm #HearIrishFarmers #SupportIrishFarmers #IrishFarming #FoodSecurity ... A busy season at Beechlawn. 🌱From above, you can really see the scale of what’s happening here. The fields are full, the polytunnels are thriving, and the harvest is coming in thick and fast. Behind every box of fresh organic vegetables is a huge amount of work — planting, weeding, watering, harvesting, packing and doing it all again the next day. We’ve been a little quiet here lately, but that doesn’t mean things have been quiet on the farm. Quite the opposite. 😅This is the heart of the growing season — long days, full fields and plenty to be grateful for.Grown with care. Harvested fresh. Supplying our community. 💚#BeechlawnOrganicFarm #OrganicFarming #IrishFarming #IrishOrganic #OrganicProduce ... See MoreSee Less

Growing more than vegetables 🌱A great afternoon at the Pulse Club Lunch & Learn in Ballinasloe, with Eithne Treanor and her “Own the Space” session.Today was all about one of the most important skills in any business — communication: how to tell your story with confidence, communicate your value clearly, build trust and create stronger relationships. At Beechlawn Organic Farm, we spend most of our days growing, harvesting and getting fresh organic produce out to our customers — but telling the story behind what we do matters too. 🌱🥦There’s always something new to learn, and it was great to step away from the fields for an afternoon of learning, conversation and connecting with other local businesses.A big thank you to Eithne Treanor and Pulse Club for a brilliant session! 💚#BeechlawnOrganicFarm #PulseClub #Ballinasloe #OwnTheSpace #Storytelling #Communication #LocalBusiness ...
