We had another great week on the farm with lots of planting done just before the rain arrived yesterday. As soon as the storm finishes we will be out planting again with our brussel sprouts, cabbage and broccoli all due to go into the ground next week. We direct sowed parsnip and beetroots too. This weeks boxes will have our own spinach, scallions, lettuce, salad leaves and last seasons Irish beetroot, parsnip and potatoes. We await the arrival of kale in the next few weeks if we get the right amount of sun, heat and rain!
We are also offering a free tub of cherry tomatoes with all orders over 40 euros this week. We have the scrumptious watermelons again along with seasonal cucumbers, courgettes and cherry tomatoes from Spain. Pictured is the 25euro seasonal box from last week. Please see the box descriptions for this weeks veg box contents.
Other veg box news is that we are back using DPD for some areas but limiting the departures to Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays as Thursday departures sometimes dont make it to their destination before the weekend and are the worst for wear by Monday….. we ask you to bear with us at this very busy time for our hard working couriers.
Dublin customers are better to get their order in early in the week for a Tuesday or Wednesday delivery also as stocks run low towards the end of the week.
